Lets be real, Xbox Live is totally awesome. It is essential for gamers, well, that is, Xbox gamers. It started with the Xbox system in 2002, and is now supported on many platforms including Xbox 360, Windows, and now Xbox One.

It's quite incredible how far technology has come. Not to many years ago, an intense gamer was one that visited arcades on a regular basis, surrounded by other teenagers with the same interest. Now you can sit in your room and play with millions of other people with your specific gaming interests. Via the internet (xbox live), we can play on the same screen with whoever we want, and communicate with them if we wish.

To our kids, it's the future. To our adults, it's evolutionary . To the elderly, it's unheard of. Xbox Live really is something. Billions of dollars every year are spent paying for Xbox Live codes, for games and membership fees. Microsoft makes a ridiculous amount off Xbox Live each year. They make approximitely $69.24 billion per year. Yeah, it's insane. Gamers are so addicted to Xbox, and video games in general, it's a problem for most. It's hard for the average gamer not to look at the Xbox Live gift cards while taking a trip to Wal-Mart or the local drug store.

While gaming is super fun and exciting, it also comes with some consequences. the average gamer spends about 9.2 hours a week gaming, equivalent to 19 days every year, gaming every second. This means the average gamer spends nearly 2 years of his/her life staring at a screen. As bad as that sounds, this is only the average gamer. Some gamers may spend up to 15 years of their life doing nothing but playing video games. The average gamer is around 35 years old, and typically overweight. Playing too many games can become an addiction for many and can lead to lack of excercise and human contact, leading to stress, growing overweight, and antisocial.

In conclusion, Xbox is an overall awesome expirience for anyone. While it can have some negative effects, it can also have many positive ones too. These may include meeting new people, Discovering new places, and putting you in situations you would never encounter in reality. Who knows? In another few years we could be seeing technology advance enough to physically put us in these games. Sounds pretty awesome and I know i'm looking foward to the future of gaming and Xbox Live.
