Looking for a specific recipe in my very unorganized recipe drawer, had taken me over 15 minutes, and was very frustrating. I had recipes written on all sorts of things, old index cards, post-it notes, recipes cut from backs of dry food boxes. My drawer definitely needed some organizing. So, I went shopping for some kind of book to transfer my recipes into. Could not find anything close to what I was looking for. Then, wondering, does anybody make a book for that purpose? That got me thinking, what all would I need to make my own book? After pondering on it for a week or so. I came up with a laminated, and binded blank book. The size to fit 3x5 recipe cards inside. Perfect! I purchased a laminator and binding machine. They would be the main items for the making of these books. I also purchased a paper cut, (Hadn't use one of them since school days), a big assortment of design paper packs, lots of colored binder combs, and different colors and styles of alphabet lettering, to make them each look different. It was a must to make books that were going to last a long time, and I wanted them for organizing all different kinds of recipes. I had an assortment believe me. Also to make sure they would last to hand down to my kids. Some of the recipes I have were given to me by my Mom. Now I can hand them down all organized in my designed recipe books.

I think my books were a great idea. They will keep my recipes old, and new, around for a long time. The younger generation, most don't cook. They go out and eat at fast food restaurants, which is not healthy all the time. The best foods are from your own kitchen. These recipe books really worked out great for me. Their fun to make, and a great pass time during the winter months when we can't get outside. You know theirs only so many puzzles you can put together, I also still do that too.

They would work great for somebody that has a recipe drawer like mind was. It is so easy to find what I'm looking for now, and fast! I can't believe I didn't think of this a long time ago. I open my drawer up and can easily grab the book a specific recipe is in. Saves a lot of time. It's awesome.
